Battery Electric
A Kia electric car or SUV is propelled by an electric motor, and uses a rechargeable battery as its only power source. You can charge your battery-electric vehicle at home or at any of Missouri's growing public charging stations.
Hybrids
A hybrid powertrain, which is a parallel hybrid system, switches between gas and electric power – or uses both together – to help maximize efficiency at all times. To enhance power, Sport mode gives you adjustable regenerative braking levels, increased throttle response and more.
Plug-in Hybrids
A plug-in hybrid uses an electric motor for a quiet ride and no tailpipe emissions, but can also use gas in case your battery runs out. You can go all-electric when you want, or go plug-in hybrid for options. The choice is yours!
Level 1 Chargers
These use a standard outlet and offer 5 to 6 miles of range/hour.
- 120-volt standard outlet.
- Requires no installation and can go anywhere.
- 5-6 mile range/hour charge speed.
- Best for PHEV (Plugin Hybrid) Charging.
Level 2 Chargers
These use a 240-volt outlet (NEMA 6-50 or NEMA 14-50) or can be hard-wired for maximum charging up to 60 miles of range per hour.
- 240-volt outlet, the same as used for some major appliances.*
- Requires an electrician to install.
- 25-60 mile range/hour charge speed.
- Best for overnight charging of EVs and quick charging for PHEVs.
